New Strategic Category Manager for Scientific/Medical
Casey Laurienzo will join FSU on Friday, June 2nd serving as the Scientific/Medical Strategic Category Manager in Procurement Services. Oversight and responsibility will include developing and leading the execution of the strategy for FSU scientific/medical spend categories including scientific/medical research equipment and supplies, instrumentation, and maintenance. This position will interface with the campus researchers and partner with key stakeholders to understand and align business strategy, market dynamics, supplier capabilities, and spend analytics to develop robust category plans for campus.
Casey is an alum from FSU and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and English.
Prior to coming to FSU, Casey worked for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) as a Bureau Chief where she developed and led a procurement program for spend categories from construction activities to scientific research. This included development, review and approval of all departmental contracts/grants, monitoring and reporting of contractual services and leading/negotiating special procurement projects and contracts for the division. Prior to that Casey worked as a Contract Administration Manager and Government Operations Consultant gaining skills in negotiating, data analysis, process improvement and vendor relationship management.
Casey is a Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) and has a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Her skills include procurement, analysis, project management, contract management and contract negotiations.
